Eik Landing 104A Pleasant LeaLocated on the picturesque harbourfront of Tofino with panoramic views of the majestic rainforest mountains and islands of Clayoquot Sound, Eik Landing was named for the towering ancient cedar at its entrance.
The now famous Eik tree was in danger of falling and for a while it seemed it may be cut down, until a young French Canadian man climbed up to the its protecting treetop boughs and would not leave until the tree was saved. Worldwide media became enchanted with the passion this young man had to save the Eik tree and money flowed in from around the world to save it. Now complete with a protecting 'girdle' the Eik tree stands as the sacred guardian of Eik Landing. Each Eik Landing suite offers its own unique and individually designed style. The name “Pleasant Lea” is a romantic play on words by the owners - “pleasant” being of Old French origin meaning agreeable to mind, feelings, and senses. “Lea” comes from Old English and is often used in poetry to describe the site of peaceful landscape views. Pleasant Lea is a cozy one bedroom corner suite with spectacular views of Tofino’s diverse waterfront and the towering forests of Meares Island. The glacier-covered mountains of Strathcona Park on the horizon stand guard over the harbour. Featuring watercolour art by local artist Carol Schultz and award winning painter Maggie Smith, Pleasant Lea is within easy walking distance to the galleries, restaurants and charter operators in the village. Pleasant Lea features a well-equipped custom kitchen, a master bedroom with queen bed, open living room/dining room with gas fireplace. TV/VCR/DVD, double-sized sofabed, a variety of paperback honks and magazines, and a large bathroom with tub-shower. A large corner cedar deck offers a magnificent water view, comfortable lounge chairs and a propane barbecue. Pleasant Lea is pet friendly and will sleep up to 4 guests.
